About Breezewood Kennels

What it is

Breezewood Kennels is first and foremost a boarding business – dogs and cats, all breeds and ages – on Lakefield Road in Round Hill, in a private country setting in western Loudoun County. It has operated since 1991 and describes itself as family-run. Training is a secondary service.

The training offer

Short and specific: "We provide in home training without the use of e-collars, pinch collars, or halti-collars. We can also help you address most behavioral issues." The boarding page's feature list also names "Obedience & Socialization Training". That is the whole of what the site publishes about training – there is no curriculum, no class list, no program length and no price.

Boarding, which is the main business

The all-inclusive nightly rate is $52, covering several outdoor trips a day, play time and exercise at no extra charge. Indoor runs are climate controlled with raised beds and fresh water; outdoor play yards are assigned by size, temperament and play style, and a dog who would rather not socialize can have a private yard at no additional cost. Multi-dog discounts apply where dogs can safely share a run, including at feeding. Puppies are taken under a year with age-appropriate vaccinations plus Bordetella, at $10 a day extra. Medication is administered free of charge. Reservations are booked online, and the site notes it holds limited spaces "for those pups with behavorial issues".

Also

The kennel breeds German Shepherds and says it "has provided many wonderful German Shepherd companions to folks worldwide" since 1991.
