About Canine Academy

Canine Academy, Inc. has been running on Main Street in Clarence for more than 25 years, and the site puts its combined staff experience at more than 60 years.

The class ladder

Group classes are published as Puppy Preschool, Obedience, Agility, and a set of other classes, with an upcoming-classes page that carries the current schedule.

The intensive programs

Four named programs sit above the group classes and are described as more intensive than a group obedience class, for owners working through behavioral issues or short on time. Board and Train has the dog stay at the facility. Daycare and Train is the same intensity without the overnight. Jump Start Puppy is for puppies under five months who need extra help. Private Lessons are one-to-one and can be run either in the owner's home or at the facility.

Getting placed

The school does not sell a program off the shelf. Dogs must be evaluated before anyone decides which program fits, and evaluations for the intensive programs are free but by appointment only.

The About page keeps returning to the same point: one size does not fit all, and the aim is not only to train the dog but to make the relationship better, because a well-behaved dog goes more places and does more things.
