About Canine Coach Mike

Canine Coach Mike is Michael Muscato's Albany practice. The site titles every page with his credential – CPDT-KA – and the coaching metaphor is not decoration: he spent over twenty years as a player development director for athletes before turning the same work on dog owners.

Three formats

Group classes run one hour a week over a six-week period. In-home training is one-on-one in the dog's own environment, and the site asks that all members of the household join rather than just the person who booked. Virtual training is offered as a full option rather than a fallback, for owners who want guidance on behavior questions without a visit.

The stated approach

The site describes easy-to-learn training methods intended to build the confidence of both dog and owner, using positive training methods, with the emphasis on educating people about their dog's behavior. Mike traces the interest back to Sherwood, his first Golden Retriever, in 1990.

Coverage

The published service area is Albany and the surrounding Albany County, reaching Troy, Schenectady, Cohoes and Watervliet.
