About Cascade Canine – Dog Training & Behavior
What they offer
Cascade Canine serves Puyallup, Tacoma and Pierce County. Consultations are the starting point, covering a dog's behavior, training goals and how to begin with positive reinforcement. Private lessons take place in the owner's home with exercises tailored to the dog, and day training packages last four weeks, with the trainer working one-on-one with the dog and private lessons to hand skills over to the owner. Plans cover leash pulling, aggression and reactivity, jumping on guests, confidence for fearful dogs, foundation manners and potty training, and the trainers specialize in a positive approach to reactivity and aggression cases.
How they train
The team uses positive reinforcement, clicker training and force-free techniques, and aims to understand what drives a behavior and meet a dog's species-specific needs.
About the trainers
Kay has a psychology degree from the University of Washington, worked as a zoo keeper and trainer at Point Defiance Zoo and Aquarium, and became a Karen Pryor Academy certified trainer in 2017. Poppy is a Karen Pryor Academy graduate who completed an aggression in dogs master course.
