About Katz K9
What they offer
Katz K9 trains at its facility in Tacoma. Its board and train runs four weeks for basic pet obedience and on-leash manners, or six weeks for behavior modification such as reactivity, fear and anxiety; every program includes follow-up lessons, e-collar training and support, and the board and train can also be customized toward advanced obedience or bite work foundations. In-person lessons are available, and the business has a particular focus on protection and sport training for working breeds, including the Protection Sports Association (PSA) and K9 Street League, along with decoy development and trainer development. Structured boarding is offered to past clients.
How they train
The trainers describe a balanced approach that uses food, toys and praise for motivation and tools such as leashes, prong collars or e-collars for boundaries, working with everything from puppies to senior dogs.
About the trainers
Adam Katz and Carly McCormick run the business together; Adam's training background includes Primal Canine and NePoPo programs.
