About Come, Sit, Stay & Play.

A dog-u-cation center in West Milwaukee with a class ladder

Come, Sit, Stay and Play Dog-u-cation Center offers dog training, day care and dog walking in the Milwaukee area. The walking service is not a plain walk – "Our walking service includes individualized training" – and the site frames the benefit as mental as well as physical: "Exercise for the brain as well as the body means your dog has a more satisfying, balanced session. You'll notice with each visit that your pet's obedience and your control improve too!"

Classes

Group classes run as a ladder "from Puppy Class through Elite Obedience Training." The Puppy Class is a 4-week course covering basic house manners and "valuable information to help establish a sound foundation for your new pet." The Essentials Class is a 10-week course covering both on- and off-leash control, with dogs required to be at least 14 weeks old – "This 10-week course will give you the essentials to make your dog a great companion." The Elite class is a 6-week course "for the owner who enjoys taking their training to the next level; whether you simply wish to create a stronger bond or compete in formal obedience," with Essentials completion as a prerequisite; a 6-month Elite Membership allows attendance at any number of Elite classes. Private training is available in the home or at the center for behavioral cases where the dog and owner "would not be suitable for an Essentials Class."

Breed advocacy

The center runs a "Pit Bull In A Positive Light Program" and, to improve the breed's image, offers "a free Elite Class for any owner who owns an American Pit Bull Terrier, American Staffordshire Terrier, or Staffordshire Bull Terrier AND pays in advance for an Essentials Class." It has also hosted Iron Dog weight pull competitions at the center. Todd Thurber is named on the site as the owner and a professional dog trainer working in the Milwaukee area.
