About Ducktown Lodge & Dog Training

Ducktown Lodge is a boarding lodge in Cumming that runs its training inside the stay rather than as a separate class, and the scale is the point: twelve private suites, cared for by the same two people every day.

Board and train

The trainer is named on the site as Sarah, and the site says she works with only a few dogs at a time. The program is aimed at dogs that need structure, boundaries or, in the site's phrase, "just a reset", and it is deliberately folded into the daily routine so the learning happens as part of the day rather than in sessions bolted onto it. The framing throughout is calm and connected rather than corrective: training that "isn't about quick fixes or rigid drills".

Boarding

Boarding is sold on the same small scale, with calm routines, several outdoor sessions a day and the same handlers throughout. Rates are published up front, which the site makes a point of. Families from across North Georgia and into South Carolina are named as clients.
