About Earl’s K9 Services aka The Original Kansas City Dog Whisperer

What they offer

Earl's K9 Services, also known as The Original Kansas City Dog Whisperer, is an owner-coaching business based in De Soto and serving Johnson County and the surrounding areas. The site says Earl has more than 45 years of experience with dogs in the Kansas City area.

Coaching, not board and train

The approach is to teach owners to train their own dogs. A consultation of about two hours reviews the dog, the owner's goals and the problems at home or on leash, then maps out a training roadmap and hands-on instruction in marker training and structure, with follow-up support by call or text afterward. The site states plainly that he does not offer board and train or train dogs without the owner.

Areas covered

The site lists puppy and new-owner mentoring, behavior consulting, rescue dogs, leash reactivity and biting concerns, and dogs deemed dangerous, along with obedience and communication. Advanced topics include tracking, scent work, hiking etiquette, e-collar guidance, muzzle training and protection evaluation when the dog's drive supports it.

Good to know

The site asks owners to confirm current package details when they call or text.
