About K9 Ponderosa Ranch
K-9 Ponderosa is a 15-acre training ranch in Delaware, OH, run by Scott MacConachie — who trained with Cesar Millan — offering immersive residential programs and real aggression rehabilitation on full facilities.
How they train
The philosophy is that "obedience training is dog education" — custom programs built around the dog's breed, history, and the owner's goals, with a relationship-first, Cesar-influenced approach. The 15 acres (training corrals, pack-run trails, an agility course, indoor facility) give space for genuine off-leash and pack work most Columbus trainers can't match.
Programs & pricing
A monthly Puppy Pre-School (first Saturday), group obedience, private one-on-one training, residential training (their most popular option), and behavioral services for on/off-leash work and aggression rehabilitation. Pricing isn't fully published, but the consultation/evaluation is $100.
Experience & credentials
Scott MacConachie trained with Cesar Millan at Cesar's Way, completed an aggressive-dog rehabilitation certification, and has done workshops with trick-training name Kyra Sundance. 3269 State Route 37 W, Delaware, OH · (740) 369-7707 ·
Who it’s best for
Best for owners wanting an immersive, facility-based experience — especially residential training or real aggression rehab — and anyone who values a relationship-first approach with room for off-leash and pack work. Less ideal if you want a class near central Columbus or fully published package pricing.
Help for dogs that bite, lunge or react out of fear or aggression.

We were referred by friends after we adopted a lab from the animal shelter and were worried about his behavior. Scott worked with our 1 year old pup and now he responds to commands and walks on and off the leash. We highly recommend Scott & Caroline!

I wish I could give more than 5 stars!! I highly recommend Scottie MacConachie and K9 Ponderosa!! He is a phenomenal puppy raiser, dog trainer and has outstanding people skills, too! Scottie has a beautiful way of connecting with his clients and making them laugh. He makes people feel safe and open to his guidance and that’s why amazing transformations happen every day! He is extremely knowledgeable, trustworthy and dogs LOVE him! It’s obvious that his training is fun and effective. More importantly, he focuses on creating reliable behaviors without crushing the dog’s spirit. He truly brings out the best version of each dog and human that he works with! Again, I highly recommend Scottie MacConachie and K9 Ponderosa to help you build the relationship you desire with your dog.

Our Family has worked with Scott and Caroline since we acquired our Lagotto Romagnolo puppy. Through Puppy preschool, puppy training, and total obedience school we have seen a dramatic change in our dog. We could not be happier with the results. We have learned so much about caring for our new family member and also about ourselves as a family. Scott is the Cesar Millan of the Midwest.

I can't say enough positive things about Scott and Caroline and what they were able to do with my dog. I've had my English Bulldog for 5 years and his aggression had gotten to the point where I potentially needed to re-home him. I met with Scott to discuss my situation and he gave me honest and transparent feedback about what I can do better for my dog and the time and effort needed to fix things. Scott took my dog in for his in-home training for 4-5 weeks and made a world of difference for not only my dog, but myself. He and Caroline set the training and obedience foundation for my dog and did an amazing job of communicating it effectively to me to take over after his stay. The difference in my dog is night and day and we're enjoying each other again with no more aggression issues months later. My dog's loving and playful personality has come back and it's a relief to be able to be buddies again. Thanks again to Scott and Caroline for all they do. I can't recommend them enough.
