About Love Thou Dog

Love Thou Dog works from Utopia Parkway in Whitestone and publishes grooming, walking, boarding, cat grooming and training as its services, with a stated service area running from Queens through New York City, Brooklyn and Manhattan and out toward Long Island.

The training team

This is the part worth reading closely, because it is more specific than most multi-service businesses manage. The site states that the training team has over 1,000 hours of experience and is GADT certified, ABC certified and Canine Good Citizen evaluator certified, and that it specializes in a full range of positive reinforcement training. The three areas named are puppy basics, advanced obedience, and adolescent behavior modification – which is a sensible grouping, since the adolescent stage is when most Whitestone households discover that the puppy manners they installed have quietly stopped working.

The rest of the business

Grooming, walking and boarding are the day-to-day products, and the site's practical advice sits alongside them: it explains the vaccination schedule certified kennels require before a puppy can board, and suggests leaving something carrying the owner's scent for a boarding stay. Cat grooming is offered as well.

How they describe themselves

The language throughout is family-oriented rather than technical – the emphasis is on convenience, personalized care and a team that works together. Booking runs through the site.

Who it suits

An owner in Whitestone, Bayside or College Point who would rather have grooming, boarding and training under one roof, and who wants a positive-reinforcement trainer for puppy or adolescent work, is the natural fit. Owners with an aggression or severe reactivity case should ask directly whether the team takes those; the site does not claim them.
