About RR Fluffytale Pet Grooming/Boarding/Training

RR Fluffytale sits on Rocky Hill Road in Bayside and publishes its whole site in both English and Chinese – a genuine practical advantage in a corner of Queens where a Mandarin- or Cantonese-speaking owner often has to make do with an English-only intake form.

The training programs

Dog training is one of the two banners at the top of the site, and the two formats named are in-home training and board-and-train. The business explains why a grooming salon runs training at all: its owner is described as not only a professional groomer but also a certified dog trainer, bringing a deeper understanding of animal behavior to every appointment. Behavior work therefore runs through the grooming as well – the salon's own material talks about reading body language and stress signals.

Grooming

Grooming is the main trade: full styling, premium baths, and both dogs and cats welcome. The business was founded, on its own telling, by two best friends with a shared passion for pets.

The grooming course

The third strand is a 12-week professional grooming course, taught by the senior groomer – the same certified dog trainer. The published terms are two sessions a week, two to three hours per session, and $4,000 tuition. The curriculum listed covers clipper, scissor, comb and professional dryer technique across short, long, double and curly coats; ear cleaning, nail care, dental basics and parasite identification; canine behavior insight; and a before-and-after portfolio on graduation, with hands-on time with real dogs in every class.
