Petco Dog Training in Avon holds classes inside the Petco pet store, with trainers who focus on positive reinforcement and practical skills for everyday life. Adult dog training works on reinforcing good habits, leash manners, managing unwanted behaviors and helping dogs adjust to new environments.
Group classes
Group classes run six weeks, in hour-long sessions with up to four other dogs, at $149 per course. Levels are Puppy (8 to 16 weeks, covering potty training, socialization and foundational cues), Beginner (16 weeks to 6 months, with loose-leash walking, leave it, wait and tricks), Fundamentals (6+ months, covering sit, down, come, wait and curbing jumping and barking) and Advanced (6+ months, with heel, recall with distractions and polite greetings).
Private lessons
Private sessions run 45 minutes with a certified trainer. New customers can start with a $39 Private Lesson 101, and packages cost $249 for 4 sessions or $329 for 6, each with flexible scheduling and a customized training plan.
