Inside Petco store 1789 at 9960 Glades Rd, Boca Raton, trainers run hour-long group classes over six weeks, as owners learn alongside as many as four other dogs and pet parents. Four levels make up the group lineup: Puppy for 8 to 16 weeks, covering potty training, socialization and first cues; Beginner for 16 weeks to 6 months, adding loose-leash walking, leave it, wait and tricks; Fundamentals for dogs 6 months and up, which also works on jumping and barking; and Advanced, with heel, recall around distractions and polite greetings.

One-on-one option

For flexible scheduling, Glades Rd also books 45-minute private sessions with a certified trainer, including an introductory lesson for new customers that sets goals and a customized training plan.

Training hours
