What they offer

Positive Pup Training is owned and operated by Robin Brown and teaches puppy and obedience classes at its training location at 7658 Burning Tree Drive in Franktown (the Franktown Animal Clinic). The site credits her with more than 15 years working with animals in grooming, shelters, pet stores and training.

Classes

Puppy classes run weekly on weekends and can be started any week; puppies attend until 20 weeks and then move into Practical Obedience 1. Practical Obedience 1 and 2 are five one-hour weekly classes for adult dogs and older puppies, the second focused on loose-leash walking and impulse control; the site notes these classes are not for dogs with aggression toward people or dogs. A four-week Canine Good Citizen class includes the test, and an agility for fun class is also listed.

Private training

Private sessions, mostly held in the client's home, suit busy families, fearful dogs and home-specific problems such as house training, separation anxiety and barking. The trainer demonstrates the skills and stays available by phone or email between sessions. All training uses positive reinforcement and praise, and the site lists an AKC S.T.A.R. Puppy evaluator.
