Power Up K9 is a canine fitness, massage and sports training business based at a training center on Bishop Street in Portland. Its owner has competed in obedience and flyball for most of her life, is a certified Control Unleashed instructor and focuses on reward-based training.

Training

Control Unleashed private lessons use games to help dogs relax, focus and cope in stimulating or stressful situations, and the business says the program suits dogs that are easily distracted, reactive or easily aroused, anxious or stressed, or that struggle with impulse control. Private lessons also cover foundation skills and problem-solving for agility, jump analysis and flyball. A day school program introduces puppies and young dogs to canine sports, and group classes such as flyball and a sports sampler run on a limited basis.

Fitness and massage

Structured fitness plans for puppies, athletes, active pets and seniors can be done in the studio or at home, alongside canine massage and land treadmill sessions.
