About Dogwise Obedience
What they offer
Dogwise Obedience is a Portland dog training business run by a trainer certified as a Canine Training Specialist, who says she has worked with more than two thousand dogs and their owners over the past fifteen years. Training is reward-based and includes no physical punishment.
Private training
Private sessions take place in the owner's home or at another location of the owner's choice, start with an evaluation visit, and come with written instructions on everything covered. They can address basic obedience, puppy training, aggression problems and separation anxiety, and the trainer sometimes brings her own dogs or guests to practice with.
Obedience camp and leash clinics
Obedience camp is a week-long, kennel-free program in which one dog at a time lives in a home setting and gets several hours of one-on-one foundation training each day, with work on problem behaviors in home and public settings; it ends with written instructions, videos and a training session with the owner at pick-up. Leash clinics, announced from spring to fall, teach loose-leash walking and ignoring distractions on Sunday mornings on Portland's Eastern Promenade, with small class sizes.
Support
Clients get ongoing email or text support after their training.
