About Sit Happens
What they offer
Sit Happens provides in-home dog training in the Cumberland County area. Its trainer is a Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner and a member of the Association of Pet Dog Trainers, and uses positive reinforcement.
How it works
Every client starts with an in-home consultation of 30 to 45 minutes to discuss concerns and goals, sometimes with videos sent in advance. Private lessons are held one-on-one in the owner's home, where the problems happen, starting with minimal distractions and adding more as the dog progresses. Day training sessions let the trainer work with the dog alone two to three times a week, with a private lesson recommended at the end of each week to pass the skills to the owner.
Focus
The trainer works with both the dog and the owner so everyone uses the same language, and aims for basic obedience and reliability that carries from inside the house to the outdoors.
