The trainer

The About page is headed "From the Marine Corps to the leash." It states that after serving in the Marine Corps, Nathan "was invited to attend a dog training school in Cleveland, Ohio," became "a certified trainer that specialized in behavior modification and basic obedience," and "in his first 5 years … had trained over 200 dogs," later "training his own team of trainers across multiple states." He took a hiatus in 2021, returned to study at Middle Tennessee State University and joined the Tennessee Army National Guard, "where he has since been commissioned as an Engineer Officer." The business is named after Kane, Nathan's German Shepherd. The page also explains where the method came from: training "under the tutelage of a Master Trainer with nearly 40 years of experience," from whom "balance coupled with consistency and effective communication" became the approach.

What they publish

Five programs are laid out with their formats attached. Puppy Foundations is for 8-16 weeks of age, "In-home, positive reinforcement," at "4 x 45 min sessions, bi-weekly," covering "leash manners, potty routine & introduction to basic commands." The Puppy Comprehensive can start "as early as 16 weeks" and is "Boarding with bi-weekly handling sessions," at "8 x 1hr handling sessions, 12 weeks boarding." Basic Obedience "encompasses on and off leash training techniques that cover: boundaries, minor behavioral issues, and basic commands," offered either in-home (8 x 1hr private handling sessions with weekly homework) or as boarding (5 x 45min sessions with 3 weeks boarding). Behavior Modification is "serious training designed to address fear, aggression, and anxiety directed towards humans or other animals," requires basic obedience first, and carries "mandatory boarding, length determined at time of evaluation." Advanced Training covers object retrieval, "Utility Training: practical application of agility training" and "Service Training: provide assistance with a specific task for human companion."
