About Ruff to Ready Dog Behavior
Behavior consulting in Jacksonville
Ruff to Ready Dog Behavior is a Jacksonville behavior practice founded in 2019 by Amanda Lunsford, a Certified Behavior Consultant Canine-Knowledge Assessed (CBCC-KA) through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers. It focuses on fear, anxiety, reactivity and aggression, and cites 7+ years solving complex behavior cases. The guiding idea is that behavior is communication, not disobedience.
How the work is done
All training takes place in the family's home, where the behaviors happen. Plans follow the Humane Hierarchy and use gentle, evidence-based methods, working at the dog's pace. Programs address leash reactivity toward dogs, people or vehicles, fearful and defensive behavior, barrier frustration and fence fighting, over-arousal, multi-dog conflict and resource guarding.
Prices
A 30-45 minute phone consultation is free. The Starter Assessment is $175 for a 90-120 minute in-home evaluation with a written plan. The Foundation Program is $2000 for 10-12 weeks and 15-20 personalized sessions with weekly check-ins and ongoing support.
