About Sierra Canine Academy

What they offer

Sierra Canine Academy is a dog training service located in Gardnerville that serves Reno, the Carson Valley and the surrounding area. The owner, Felicia, teaches the whole owner and dog relationship, hiking trail etiquette and off-leash control, and the site says the academy specializes in dog behavior modification.

Programs

Training covers puppy skills, manners, basic obedience and off-leash training, with dog sport options in herding, tracking and scent work, plus Canine Good Citizen preparation and private lessons. Club Felicia adds play days, obedience tune-ups, social skills work and continuing education, and clients describe pack walk days where dogs practice off-leash obedience. Evaluations are offered onsite or at the owner's home, and puppy consultations help new owners choose a puppy and prepare the home for it.

How they train

The site explains that owners need to learn pack behavior and dog body language to handle their dogs well, so clients learn by working with their own dog alongside the trainer's dogs.
