About Top Dog Retreat

An Elmhurst daycare and boarding resort that adds training

Top Dog Retreat describes itself as "Established in 2010 as the first full service facility within Elmhurst focused on dog daycare, boarding, and enrichment services," with a stated goal "to break the mold of your standard doggy daycare or dog boarding business and prioritize your dog's physical and mental health while in our care." The site markets itself as a day care and boarding facility in DuPage first, with training as one service among several.

Services

Boarding is organized around "Lodge" accommodations in a variety of sizes for stays of one, two or multiple nights. Daycare is pitched at confidence-building for rescued dogs, socialization for puppies and burning energy for active breeds. Grooming is handled in house. Enrichment is sold as add-on sessions of mental stimulation that can be attached to any daycare or boarding stay.

Training

The training description is short but specific about method: "Our professional dog trainers in Elmhurst employ positive motivation techniques, working diligently to transform your dog into a stellar companion." Elsewhere the site frames learning as part of the stay — "Learning is training, from experienced, qualified trainers" — alongside coordinated playgroups. Owners looking specifically for obedience work should ask what formats are available and what they cost.

Booking

Reservations, appointment management and a rewards program run through a partner platform called Yourgi, which the site says connects to their pet resort. A retail store and a general information and blog section are also listed.
