About For Your K9, Inc

A dog sports school with a full behavior program attached

For Your K9 is built around activity as much as obedience. Its stated mission is "to educate people about dogs through classes, seminars, workshops and a variety of activities," and its vision is "to provide the best quality dog training and top level animal behavior education to all of the dog owning public." Foundational classes are described as "Expert training with gentle handling and positive motivational techniques."

Dog sports

This is the deepest sports menu in the area's listings: K9 Nose Work, agility, barn hunt, rally obedience, competition obedience, and tricks and specialty classes, plus trials and events. The site's reasoning is that "Dogs generally love to work, but sometimes you need to find the right activity that engages and enthuses them."

Classes, privates and behavior work

Alongside sports, the school runs Foundation Classes, Life Skills & Manners, and a Behavior track that includes a Reactive Dog membership called the Courage Club and a class on Training Thresholds — framed as "Do you know when your dog is in the think and learn zone?" Private one-on-one lessons cover basic obedience, puppy training or any of the sports, and the site also lists specialized sessions in Canine Fitness and Canine Massage. For reactivity toward dogs or people, separation anxiety, shyness or overexcitement, the site recommends booking a Behavior Consultation with an instructor rather than a class.

Online and on site

There is a parallel online program — an Online Education Center, an Online Nose Work Academy, Competitive Edge for K9 Sports and a Rockin' Rally-O course — plus free training videos, a podcast and member resources. A boutique run inside the facility by the rescue group Adopt A Husky carries treats, toys and dog sport wear.
