About Weston Dog Training Academy

Private in-home training from Plantation

Weston Dog Training Academy offers private in-home dog training across Broward County, including Plantation, Weston, Fort Lauderdale, Pembroke Pines, Davie, Hollywood and Coral Springs. It works without pre-set packages: every program starts with a free in-home assessment, then a custom plan built around the dog and the owner's goals.

Programs

Puppy Foundations, for puppies 8 weeks to 5 months, covers potty and crate training, nipping and chewing, basic commands and socialization. Basic Obedience, for dogs 6 months and older, covers loose-leash walking, reliable recall, and sit, down, place and stay. Reactivity training addresses leash reactivity and lunging, barking at windows and guests, and severe separation anxiety. Off-leash and advanced training builds reliable control without a leash, and public access training prepares dogs for malls, restaurants and outdoor cafes.

Approach

Training happens where behaviors occur: at the front door, in the backyard and on neighborhood streets. Owners are trained alongside their dogs so they can keep up the results after sessions end.

What to ask

Ask about the trainers' backgrounds and typical program costs after the assessment.
