Windsong Kennel is a facility-based dog training operation near Elkhart, Indiana, founded in the 1990s by owner and trainer John Faigh.

About the Trainer

John Faigh has 30 years of experience working with hunting breeds, especially retrievers and pointing breeds. What began as a passion for dogs grew from boarding into a training facility he describes as one of the top in the Midwest for training hunting dogs.

Approach

Training uses a gentle positive reinforcement method, teaching dogs to obey commands both at home and in the field.

Services and Grounds

Windsong specializes in gun dog and retriever training for upland and retriever work, along with puppy and general dog training. The grounds span 60 acres with dedicated upland training areas and a pond for retriever work, serving clients from the Elkhart area as well as the Chicago, Toledo, and Indianapolis regions.
