About Heeling House Training Center

What it is

The Heeling House Training Center is a dedicated training facility at 75 Lawson Road SE in Leesburg. The site says it "opened its doors to a brand new facility in 2025" and that it partners with DaySpaw for grooming and play and with Heeling House for service dog and volunteering interests – those partners are separate organizations, not services this center delivers.

How they train

Stated plainly: "All of the classes taught at The Heeling House Training Center are based on Operant Conditioning principles, with the emphasis on positive reinforcement." The program is pitched as suiting a range of goals rather than one – a well-behaved family pet, a therapy dog, or "a fun, new sport to try".

Programs and prices

Group classes run 4 weeks at $150 or 6 weeks at $245, and the published list is Puppy Foundations, Advanced Puppy, Basic, Intermediate and Advanced Obedience, Canine Good Citizen, Community Canine, Therapy Dog Prep, and Tricks and Games.

A puppy socialization package at $599 bundles six weeks of a puppy group class with eight days of daycare in which "staff will work with puppies on specific socialization and enrichment opportunities".

Private training is $125 at the center or $175 in-home, with extra charges beyond a 10-mile radius. The site notes privates also suit small groups of friends training together.

Dog sports

A separate sport track offers agility, rally obedience, scent work, disc dog, dock diving and virtual fitness, and states that "Classes are open to dogs of all sizes and breeds and you no prior experience is needed to begin". Seminars and workshops on leash walking, adolescence, choosing a puppy, and canine first aid and CPR are flagged as coming.
