About AG DOGS OBEDIENCE SCHOOL AND BEHAVIORAL SERVICES

What it is

AG Dogs is an obedience school run by Andre Gatling from 19275 James Monroe Highway in Leesburg, with group classes held at North Oatlands Animal Hospital at the same address. The site footer describes the business as "Licensed, Insured and AKC Certified Evaluator".

Programs and prices

Four progressive group courses run on Saturdays, each $225 for eight weeks: Puppy Kindergarten, Basic Obedience, Intermediate Obedience and Advanced Obedience, running back to back through the morning and early afternoon.

Puppy Kindergarten is described as socialization plus basic commands and confidence building. Basic Obedience covers sit, stay, come, down and heel "all through positive reinforcement methods". Intermediate adds distraction work, longer durations and commands such as leave it and place. Advanced pushes reliability further with extended distance recalls, precise heeling and staying in position under distraction.

Two further offerings sit outside the ladder. AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluations are $50 per dog, with the site explaining the CGC as a ten-step test of manners in public. A Show Dog Run Through class prepares dogs and handlers for conformation showing – gait, stacking and ring handling – at $225 for eight weeks.

Media

The site states that Andre Gatling has appeared on WUSA-9's Great Day Washington and in an episode of The Dodo's Pittie Nation, and that he wrote a book called Penelope's Bully.
