About The Dog Stop – Cincinnati Central
All-inclusive care with certified trainers
The Dog Stop Cincinnati Central is a full-service, "all-inclusive dog care" facility, locally owned and operated by Mary Beth Schutter. It runs out of a "13,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art dog daycare, boarding, and grooming facility" and adds training and retail to the mix. The training side is staffed by named, certified trainers: Gianna holds a CPDT-KA certification and Rob is certified through Animal Behavior College.
A clearly stated training philosophy
Unlike many directory listings, this one names its method directly: the site emphasizes "science-based, positive reinforcement training" and follows "Fear Free principles, ensuring a calm, positive experience that prioritizes your dog's emotional wellbeing." That makes it an easy recommendation for owners who specifically want force-free, reward-based training under one roof with daycare, boarding, and grooming. Specific class details for the Cincinnati Central location aren't fully spelled out on the page, so owners should confirm current training program options, but the credentials and stated philosophy are unusually transparent for this kind of multi-service operation.

We also took him for his very first grooming today, and Julena was absolutely amazing. She was patient, kind, and made the whole experience so positive for him. You can genuinely tell that she and the entire staff have such a deep love for dogs.
These are the only people we fully trust with Bear, and the only place we drop him off without any anxiety. We’re so grateful we found them. Thank you everyone at the dog stop! We love you guys🩷🩷
One thing that truly sets this place apart is their setup: smaller groups of dogs (they have four rooms) and each room has direct access to the outside. I haven’t seen that anywhere else, and it makes such a difference in keeping the dogs happy, engaged, and stress-free.
The staff is incredibly attentive and it’s obvious they truly care about the dogs. You can tell they genuinely enjoy spending time with them, not just supervising. I never have to worry when Brady is here because I know he’s loved, well cared for, and having the best time. Highly recommend!!!!
