About Balanced Life K9 Training

What this business is

Balanced Life K9 Training describes itself as a locally owned and operated professional dog training and care business located in Plattsburgh, New York. The site is written to the owner rather than about the dog, and the questions it opens with are the ones people actually search for: a dog you can enjoy taking for walks without being dragged around, a dog who obeys commands around distractions instead of ignoring you, a dog who is not embarrassing you when family and guests come to the house, less stress and more happiness when you spend time together. The business states it offers programs to meet the owner's goals and each dog's individual needs, and that clients are never left alone afterward – ongoing support is described as what keeps results holding after a program ends.

Method, stated plainly

This is a balanced program and the site lets its clients say so. One published testimonial recounts other people's reactions – the surprise that the owner would travel that far for training, the question about using a prong and an e-collar, the several weeks away – and then reports the outcome: a dog that walks nicely on leash, knows her commands and follows them reliably, which mattered because the owner has several disabilities. Another describes a transformed dog with much improved indoor and outdoor manners. Taken together with the clients-only home boarding page, the picture is a residential or semi-residential program built on obedience and leash work, and owners who want a strictly force-free trainer will know from this page that this is not one. That clarity is useful either way.

Evidence of the work

The site publishes a before-and-after of its own: Bentlee, a Golden Retriever puppy taken from what it calls an out-of-control, pulling freight train on leash to walking like a polite gentleman on a loose leash. The stated aim across the program is training that is easy to fit into everyday life, so that owners get a dog that listens at home and in new places and minds its manners.

Before you call

Two practical notes. The home boarding section of the site is password-protected and marked clients only, so pricing and program detail are not public. And at the time this profile was compiled the site's own banner read that the business was not accepting new clients – a trading-status note rather than a closure, but worth checking before you plan around it.
