About Better Bond Dog Training

In-home coaching for owners who feel out of their depth

Better Bond Dog Training is based in Lake Zurich and serves the surrounding towns, working "In Your Home For Puppies & Dogs." The site is written for a specific reader — the owner whose dog "knows commands like 'sit' when it's just you guys…but the second guests come over, they're jumping, barking, and totally ignoring you" — and its opening argument is against piecing together advice from the internet: "you've already spent hours Googling, watching YouTube videos, and trying advice from friends, family, and strangers online."

The trainer

Adria Maczka is named on the home page as Owner. The site credits her with "over 17 years of experience" helping "overwhelmed dog owners create calmer, easier everyday lives with their dogs through clear, personalized, in-home training," and says every training plan is customized around the family's specific struggles, goals and lifestyle. Outside client work, the site says she trains and competes with her own dogs in agility, nosework, rally, dock diving, frisbee, trick training and protection sports, and mentions her Border Collie Tosh appearing in a Pedigree commercial — these are her own sports, not classes on offer.

Programs and how they run

The menu splits into Puppy Programs and Adult Dog Programs, with a complete training system covering loose leash walking, calm greetings with guests, settling, potty training, recall, jumping, counter surfing and listening around distractions. Location is flexible — "Choose your location, ours or yours!" Three things are advertised as included: any training tools the trainer judges helpful, continued access to the trainer after the program ends "for the life of your dog," and digital content to review between lessons. The starting point is a phone consult, listed as free for a limited time.

Note

The site's own Services page is unfinished and still carries placeholder filler text, so the program descriptions above come from the home, about and training pages.
