About Canine Academy Of The Carolinas

Canine Academy of the Carolinas trains from a Sassy Lane address in Kannapolis. Its own site is short and program-led, and the trainer's background is published in some detail.

Programs

Four are listed: a puppy package, obedience lessons, a basic board and train and an advanced board and train. The puppy work is described as starting a new puppy with the correct foundation, assisting with housebreaking and teaching leash walking. The site says a program is built to fit the family's needs rather than sold off the shelf.

The trainer

The site says Addison Gilliam started as a hobby trainer in his early teens, interned during high-school summers with a dog training kennel in the North Carolina Piedmont, graduated early and then did vocational training at a dog training school. Alongside pet training he is described as training dogs for police work and personal protection, with skills including bite work, decoying, detection, scent work and tracking, and as preparing his own dog for the Protection Sports Association.
