About Highland Canine Training – Mooresville

Highland Canine Training's Mooresville service is run by a named trainer, Carlos Hernandez, who the company's page says serves Mooresville, Concord, Kannapolis, Troutman and Denver. The company's own facility and its School for Dog Trainers are in Harmony, North Carolina, outside this metro; what is offered locally is this trainer's program list.

Programs offered locally

The page lists private lessons, group classes, board and train programs, puppy classes, in-home dog training, service dog training and therapy dog training. With private lessons the trainer comes to the client's home once a week. Behavior modification runs as part of the private-lesson track, with an action plan built after an initial evaluation. The published curriculum also names basic and advanced obedience, foundational search and rescue, and scent work.

The trainer

The page states Carlos joined the company in 2017 and has since worked in its Service Dog Division, training and delivering service dogs in the United States and the Caribbean, and that he also instructs on the Service Dog Trainer Program at the company's school. It lists him as a professional member of the International Association of Canine Professionals and an AKC Canine Good Citizen evaluator.

Method

The company describes its services as based on humane and motivational techniques, and says it places importance on teaching owners how to maintain the behaviors afterward. Free evaluations are offered.
