About Cedar Run Company #2

Pet care and training on N. 20th Avenue in Hiawatha

Cedar Run Company #2 is at 860 N. 20th Avenue in Hiawatha, open to the public Sunday to Saturday from 7am to 6pm, with its own webcams. Like its sister location on Stonegate Court, it offers dog and cat boarding, daycare with indoor and outdoor play areas, grooming and dog training.

Training approach

Cedar Run teaches positive reinforcement methods only, rejects one-size-fits-all training and crafts each plan around the dog in a fun, low-stress setting. A discovery session with a trainer sets goals and matches the dog to a program. The trainers are Fear Free Certified and science-based; head trainer Daniel Huesman is an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator and Animal Behavior College graduate, and trainer Madi is especially focused on nervous, fearful and rescue dogs.

Training options

Play & Train pairs one-on-one training with daycare and daily updates. Small group classes cover every age and level, including CGC Prep and enrichment and life skills. Private sessions are offered in-home or in-facility, for new puppies, manners, CGC preparation or behavior challenges.
