I took agility classes with Kristen (years ago, before CleverDogs) with my first Pomeranian, Pabu, with the goal of just having fun. Despite not knowing anything about the sport and not having a "typical" agility breed, thanks to her knowledge of the sport and great training methods, we learned a lot and had so much fun in classes that we even started trialing in real competition events. Agility became a passion of mine (and Pabu's!) and we have earned multiple agility championships through the years – with much credit to Kristen for starting us out so well with great foundations!
Now I have a younger Pomeranian, Bumi, that came to me as a rescue with significant dog reactivity. Having little experience or knowledge about reactivity, I signed up for the (re)Activity Program at CleverDogs with Kristen as soon as I heard about it, and it was a huge help in figuring out how to work with and manage Bumi's reactivity issues. We took the class multiple times and he still isn't perfect, but he's made tremendous progress considering where we started. So much progress that we recently started his first "normal" group class – we've been in agility foundations with Kristen for a couple months and Bumi has already learned so much! The classes are easy to schedule, very well run, and we leave happy, tired, and with more knowledge and skills every time.
I can't recommend Kristen and CleverDogs enough!
CleverDogs is the best puppy/dog training facility in Columbus! I've been taking agility and basic manners classes with Kristen for several years and her understanding of dog behavior is exceptional!!! She always has practical, reward-based solutions to solve even the most challenging of problems. Her agility classes are so much fun and are a great way to strengthen your relationship with you dog. Whether you are looking to get your puppy off to a good start, teach your dog basic manners, or just have fun with your dog, I highly recommend CleverDogs!
Took our new Lab there for a beginner/fundamentals class. The instructor, Kristen was great! The class exercises themselves were very helpful and the individual advice we received for our dog’s other issues was so on target. Kristen knows her stuff!
I only have great things to say about CleverDogs! So far my dog and I have taken beginner agility in a group class setting. Kristen is an awesome instructor and makes each class feel like you are getting one on one attention. She gives such good advice to each client and makes the experience so much fun. A lot of care is taken to keep separation between dogs while rotating through stations. Each class has been so well organized and the facility itself is very clean. There are such a wide variety of classes and workshops offered. I cant wait to try other classes with my dogs!
We just adopted an adult dog that had been living in a cage all her life. She didn’t have a name and needed a lot of patience. We signed up for core skills beginner and we had so much success! By the end our sweet Dolly was walking nicely on a leash, was able to redirect distractions, and she was catching on to her name. The class size was perfect at 4 dogs. Kristen is an amazing trainer. She is patient, helpful, and took the time to learn about our dogs and helped us individually. We will be signing up for more classes! Highly recommend, and very affordable.
