About Good Decisions Dog Training LLC
Balanced training in Ashland
Good Decisions Dog Training, LLC, at 205 South 20th St in Ashland, is run by owner and head trainer Julie Starns, a graduate of Train the Trainers (T3) with Jeff Gellman of Solid K9 Training, Sean O'Shea of The Good Dog Training and Rehabilitation and Victoria Smith of Take the Lead K9 Training. Its balanced style teaches owners to set and reinforce structure, rules and accountability through leadership, obedience, behavior modification and socialization.
Programs
The Two Week Board and Train ($2,675 plus tax, its most popular service) immerses the dog in the training routine in Julie's home and includes a Herm Sprenger prong collar and an E-Collar Technologies e-collar; a $500 non-refundable deposit reserves a date. Aggressive dog programs run 3-5 weeks. One-on-one sessions ($150) at the Ashland location cover leash manners, barking, sits, downs, place, jumping up and mouthing. Refresher training boarding for graduates is $50 a night.
Goals
Skills include polite leash walking with an auto sit, down and place with duration, recall, waiting at thresholds, kenneling and calm crate behavior, impulse control and off-leash e-collar work.
