Training

Training is a named service with its own page: "We are proud to have several certified, experienced force-free trainers who would love to help you build a better relationship with your furry family member… We only use positive reinforcement training techniques. We never use force, fear or intimidation to get your pooch where they need to be. The dress code at Lucky Dog Training is no choke, pinch or shock collars allowed!" Training can happen at Lucky Dog, in your home, or "At Lucky Dog while your pet is boarding or in daycare." The types offered are "Puppy Manners group or private, Adult Manners, Loose Leash Walking, Impulse Control, Reliable Recall, Canine Good Citizenship training & test, Behavior Problems, Aggression Issues." Classes and appointments run "Daytime, evening, and weekend… 7 days a week," with the facility open 6am-7pm weekdays and 8am-6pm weekends.

The behavior specialist

The training staff is led by Jean Carew, Behavior Specialist: "Jean has twenty-plus years of experience in training. Jean is a nationally known, certified pet behavior counselor and force-free trainer. She is also known locally as the Behavior Guru. If your pooch has anxiety, aggression, or emotional problems, Jean can help!" She is described as a member in good standing of both the IAABC and the Pet Professional Guild and professionally educated through the Animal Behavior College, and has spent a decade volunteering on rescue placement.
