About Lucky Pup and Co.

Lucky Pup and Co. has been coaching owners in their own homes since 2020 – the site's own line is "Teaching Owners how to Unleash their Pups Potential Since 2020" – and covers "Virginia Beach | Chesapeake | Norfolk".

The program ladder

Four tiers are published. Puppy work: "Begin with a solid foundation with Puppy training in Virginia Beach", covering leash walking and correcting biting and chewing. Basic obedience is sold as a joint exercise – "Gain valuable skills alongside your dog with in-home Basic obedience training." Advanced obedience raises the difficulty: "Advanced Obedience Lessons are a great fit for anyone who wants to take their life with their dog to the next level", with "High distraction recall", "High distraction leash manners" and "Off-leash dog training". The behavior track handles the serious cases – "Learn how to correct and navigate your dogs behavior with our In-Home Dog Training Lessons" – and names them: "Dog on dog aggression" and "Aggression towards guests or family members."

Off-leash, and the tool behind it

The off-leash program is explicit about how it is achieved: "Ecollar training for your dog not only gives you the upper hand when correcting unwanted behaviors, but it gives you the freedom to Unleash Life alongside your pup." If you have a preference one way or the other on remote collars, that sentence tells you where it stands before you book.

Structure, stated in the FAQ

The site answers the practical questions properly. On length: "Each lesson is 45 minutes to an hour long dependent on complexity of the lesson itself/ how the dog is maintaining focus. Programs begin at 3 lessons with our mini and can reach 12/15 lessons for behavioral cases." On shape: "To begin, we will have a consultation to analyze your dogs behaviors as well as their dynamic in the home, from there I will set up a success plan and give you your first homework assignment." And on why it happens in your house: "All programs begin in the home where we establish our foundation, we will move on to excursions outside of the home as we progress. In each lesson I will teach your dog skills (fine tune as we progress), then hand them off to you and teach you how to achieve the same result through hands on learning."

The method, named

No ambiguity: "I am a strong believer in balanced training. I believe clear communication comes from rewarding what we want to see and correcting what we don't." The wider philosophy is about expectation – "I have found that the best relationships are formed when there is a clear understanding of expectation between owner and dog, Lucky Pup programs are designed to give you just that."
