About Oakland County Dog Training

Who they are

Oakland County Dog Training is run by Michelle Noel, CPDT-KA, owner and trainer, with a stated purpose of "Helping overwhelmed and frustrated dog owners through In-Home Dog training." The practice covers three areas: basic obedience ("walking on the leash, sit, down, wait, come, look at me, stay, place, drop it, leave it"), behavior issues ("Does your dog react badly when they see people, dogs, or vehicles? Maybe they 'warn you' when you try and take their stuff? Maybe they are super upset when they are left alone?") and puppies.

How it works

Training happens where the behavior happens: "We offer in-home and on-site training in Oakland County Michigan. That means… we come to your home or location to work on the behavior where it occurs!" Pricing is not fixed because "each client's situation is unique and training is not a one size fits all. That's why we require a Behavior Strategy Session before you start training." The free Behavior Strategy Session is booked through a client portal after completing intake information.

Method

Noel states it plainly: "I offer gentle, kind, effective, and relationship-based dog training! I do not use choke chains, shock collars, prong collars, etc."
