About THE ROMERO K9 ACADEMY

Training and boarding in Lorton

Romero K9 Academy is a Lorton dog training business founded by a US Army Military Police veteran. It describes its approach as structure, consistency and leadership combined with respect for each dog, with programs built around the individual dog's temperament and needs.

How it starts

Training begins with an in-home consultation that reviews the dog's history, behavior and goals and ends with a tailored plan and a recommended number of sessions. Follow-up sessions are typically held in your home and are mostly hands-on work with the dog.

Programs

The services page lists aggression rehabilitation for dogs whose behavior poses serious risk, a three-day boarding training tune-up for refreshing skills and fixing small issues, and a fourteen-day boarding program focused on obedience, social skills and balanced behavior. The academy also offers overnight boarding and structured day care, and mentions a breeding program.

What to ask

Ask whether in-home sessions or a boarding program suits your dog, how aggression cases are assessed, and what support follows a boarding stay.
