About Trust & Obey Pawsitive Dog Training LLC

Who they are

Trust & Obey Pawsitive Dog Training LLC runs from a training center at 758 Wing Street in downtown Plymouth. The site is signed by Judi Hales, ABCDT, and carries bios for both Judi and a second trainer, Tessa.

Method

Judi states her position directly: "I often find myself saddened by the way I see people training their dogs. Some trainers use harsher, strict methods for training, causing dogs to shut down and be fearful, which only brings on more behavior issues… There is no need to shout at, hit, 'break your dog's spirit', 'be the pack leader or alpha'. I can help you learn better more effective ways to communicate with your pet. My methods are positive and very effective. Positive and Force Free training is backed by Scientists and Behaviorists." She also urges owners to check credentials: "This is an unregulated business and needs to change. Research trainers and be sure they are certified."

Classes and pricing

The published class structure covers Firm Foundations, an Observation Program, Advanced Behaviors, Puppy Preschool and Puppy FUNdamentals, plus extra-curricular classes Fun With Fido — "Pre-agility – Shaping – Tricks – Games… ideal if you want to move on to agility" — and See Spot Sniff, along with clinics and seminars. Private work is offered too: training center consultations are $125 for a one-hour session, with packages of three sessions for $350 (a $25 saving) and five for $550 (a $75 saving); in-home session prices are listed separately on the private page. Registration and payment run through the site's sign-up page.
