About K9 Life Lessons
What they do
K9 Life Lessons runs two board and train programs out of its own facility at Dixie, in Brooks County. Both are full-immersion: the dog lives on site for the duration and the work is split between basic obedience and household manners, which the site describes as helping dogs "live calmly and appropriately in the home and in everyday environments."
The two programs
The three-week program is leash-based from start to finish, with the leash as the primary communication tool; the site is straightforward that off-leash control is not part of it and the dog will need to stay on a leash to hold the behavior. The four-week program starts the same way and then conditions the dog to an e-collar so the owner has a way to communicate off-leash. It is for dogs six months and older; the three-week program is open to any dog that has finished its puppy vaccinations.
What comes with it
The published list includes a four-foot leash, a treat pouch, a twenty-foot drag line for recall work, a training tab, starter treats and the training collar chosen for that dog. Handover is three owner lessons of one to two hours, paced to how quickly the owner picks it up, plus lifetime support and a bath before pickup. Financing is available. Past clients can book boarding afterwards.
About the trainer
Brooke Chambers is the owner and founder and writes that her interest began with horses and then the dogs on a plantation, and that she moved into professional dog training in 2019.
