About My Wonderful Dog

What they offer

My Wonderful Dog is run by a trainer who began as a volunteer at an assistance dog program in California and moved to Maine in 2000 to start a non-profit that trained and placed dogs for people with disabilities. Under the same name she now trains family dogs, with a practical, holistic approach to obedience.

Training

One-on-one training sessions take place in the owner's home and are tailored to the dog and family, with strategies to stop unwanted behaviors from being rehearsed. They help with on-leash behavior, pulling, house-training setbacks, chewing, basic manners and tricks, using fear-free, reward-based methods. The trainer serves Portland, South Portland, Cape Elizabeth and parts of Scarborough. Virtual training sessions and behavioral consults over Zoom are also available, with recorded sessions to review afterward.

Other services

The business also lists off-leash adventure walks and boarding.
