About Paws and Ponder, LLC.

Paws and Ponder, LLC. does one thing: "In-home Training for Every Dog" across "Oakton, Reston, and Vienna". The name is the method statement – "to pause – or "paws" – and truly listen to what our dogs are trying to tell us."

The approach

Stated without hedging: "At Paws and Ponder, LLC, we prioritize positive reinforcement and force-free techniques in our in-home dog training and behavior consultations." The work is framed around causes rather than commands – "we focus on the root causes of your dog's behavior, considering environment, genetics, and their unique personality."

The courses

Four products, each with a defined scope. "Puppy Prep" is a pre-arrival class covering "choosing the right equipment to crate training, potty training, and socialization techniques". "Puppy Training" is "For dogs 6-months and under" and covers "essential commands like "sit" and "down,"" plus socialization and potty training. "Manners & Obedience Training" is "For dogs over 6-months of age" and covers "sit, place, recalls, and stay". "Loose Leash Walking" is its own course. A "Behavior Consultation" handles a dog "lunging at other dogs on the leash, exhibiting fearful behaviors, or simply leaving you puzzled".

Two ways to buy

Each course comes in two shapes. "TRAINING TOGETHER" is weekly, "owners who want to stay involved and keep things progressing between sessions"; "TRAINER-LED TRAINING" is "More hands-on training from us-so you can see progress faster", "busy schedules or faster results". The prices are published: "Puppy Prep: One (1) hour, $135", "Puppy Training, Train Together: Ten (10) week program, $800", "Puppy Training, Trainer-Led: Five (5) week program, $1360", "Manners & Obedience, Train Together: Ten (10) week program, $800", "Loose Leash Walking, Train Together: Six (6) week program, $480" and "Loose Leash Walking, Trainer-Led: Three (3) week program, $960".
