About The Dog Wizard – Dog & Puppy Obedience Training Cincinnati

A balanced-method franchise location

The Dog Wizard Cincinnati operates from 1411 Sycamore St in downtown Cincinnati. It's owned by the Clegg Family, described as having over 40 years in breeding, showing, and training dogs (with a background in Golden Retrievers and Kuvasz), and the lead trainer and business manager is Cranston Blanks, who previously opened a Dog Wizard franchise in Columbia, SC.

Method, team, and services

The site describes "balanced training techniques" and "results-based obedience training," emphasizing helping dogs make better choices and stay engaged in distracting environments rather than just learning commands. Services include board-and-train, private lessons, group classes, puppy training, and specialty training, with lifetime support access. The roster lists several trainers, one of whom, Rachel Williamson-Witzel, carries credentials including CPDT-KA, CTDI, AACE, and CCFC. Facility-based with some mobile/in-home options noted across the franchise network. A reasonable fit for owners who want a balanced approach with a structured board-and-train option and a multi-trainer team.

I highly recommend The Dog Wizard, especially David Sanders. I adopted a three-month-old puppy believing she was a single breed, only to discover she was actually a mix of 21 different breeds. That combination created some challenges for both of us. Between her high energy level and anxiety, we often struggled to communicate and stay on the same page.

In just two weeks, David helped make a remarkable difference. Through positive training techniques, clear direction, and consistent guidance, he was able to significantly reduce her anxiety and improve her behavior. His patience, knowledge, and connection with dogs are evident in the way she responds to him.

I am amazed by the progress we've already made and am excited to continue moving forward with her training. If you're looking for a skilled, compassionate, and effective dog trainer, I highly recommend David Sanders and The Dog Wizard.

Excellent course with The Dog Wizard Cincinnati! The trainers are extremely knowledgeable and easy to approach. Even though I’ve had dogs all my life and thought I understood most aspects of puppy training, I learned so much, especially about commands and how to properly use rewards with my puppy. The course itself is very relaxed, calm, and genuinely fun. The difference in my puppy after the 4-week course is incredible. I’m taking everything I’ve learned forward and will continue using the training methods recommended. I highly recommend the puppy training course to anyone. My puppy is named Cookie, and he is absolutely adorable.

Pam has been an excellent trainer, and the progress Milo has made since working with her has been incredible. Before training, Milo would constantly pull on the leash and react strongly to bikes and other dogs, making our walks stressful and unpredictable. Now he walks calmly by my side, stays focused, and can pass bikes and dogs confidently with little to no reaction.

What truly sets Pam apart is the structure and clarity she provides. She didn’t just train Milo – she taught us how to support him, giving us practical exercises, routines, and clear guidance tailored to our needs. Her approach is patient, thoughtful, and highly effective.

We’re truly grateful for everything she’s done. Milo is a happier, more confident dog, and our walks have completely transformed thanks to Pam.

Amazing trainers! my dog absolutely loves going there! The environment is relaxed and friendly but you still learn so much about your dog’s behavior through fun, interactive games and exercises. It’s also a great place to build or rebuild a strong bond with your pup. The Cincinnati team is always welcoming and happy to answer questions, and their love and dedication to dogs really show
