About Troubled to Trained

Troubled to Trained trains from 5507 Old Walland Hwy in Walland and serves Blount County. It carries a 5-star Google rating from 205 reviews.

Who runs it

The site names the trainer as Shane and gives his route into the work: he started with a Georgia program called Operation Second Chance, a rescue program taking dogs from the pound to a training center where trainers worked with them "day and night to fix problem behavior and get the dogs adopted out to new homes". He wrote the book Troubled to Trained during that period, and the business takes its name from it.

What they publish

Two formats. In-Home Training runs 90-minute sessions at the client's house, and includes a free copy of the book. Facility Training runs 60-minute sessions at their own site, described as "a structured environment ideal for skill-building and behavior work". A board and train is offered with a specific published guarantee: five commands – sit, lay down, stay, leave it and come – in five days, "guaranteed, or your money back".

How the training runs

The method statement is explicit about being selected per dog: "No two dogs are the same… By assessing behavior, temperament, and your training goals, I tailor a balanced approach that works best for you and your dog. Whether it's food motivation, leash guidance, marker training, or e-collar training, I promise to apply the best training method that will work best for you and your dog." The site's banner line is "All dogs need a leader they can trust."

What they take on

Aggression toward people and other dogs, fearfulness, separation anxiety, rules and boundaries, place training, obedience, loose leash, off-leash work, and tricks and commands. Available 7 days a week 8am to 7pm, with a free evaluation by phone.

What they can help with
